To download or not to download

Why consumers should think twice about using file sharing software
What is the difference between buying a CD and making a copy of it for a friend versus the friend using a file sharing software to download the CD in its entirety? There is actually no difference. Both acts are still illegal if you want to go that far and both acts should be punished according to the law. However, which one do you think is more likely to be found out?
One of the most favorite file sharing websites, The Pirate Bay, has been going through legal battle after legal battle. Many have tried to get the website shut down with a court order and have been unsuccessful to date. So how are these people stopping the illegal downloading off of the website? By infecting the ads on the website with viruses to where your computer will become infected without warning. It does not help if you have the most updated anti-virus protection or even the anti-spyware or anti-malware protection services. These viruses will shut your computer down to where you cannot access anything on your computer. I am sure that if you use this website you might have seen the infection. It labels itself as the AV Security Suite. Good luck getting rid of the virus.
One of the major concerns that consumers have is if they are actually going to like the product that is coming out. Most cases have proven that even if they have downloaded materials off of these websites, they still go out and buy the product’s full version. This includes CDs and movies. Since the economic times have gotten to the point where we, as consumers, can barely afford simple pleasures such as toilet paper or our house payments; it is difficult to want to put aside twenty dollars to buy a movie if we are not sure that we are even going to enjoy the movie.
So here is something to keep in mind if you are insisting that you cannot wait for the movie or any other media to be out to buy it. Try investing in software such as iTunes. This program is a little bit more cost effective and works great with your computer. This is also a better way of getting the files you possibly want without having to worry about viruses or having the FBI knocking on your door.

Yep, update anti-virus software regularly, and don't take chances. If something is really that important to download, ask for an alternative means or at least double check who it's from first.
